Earn-A-Bike Program
Learn bicycle repair skills and earn your own refurbished bike.
How It Works
Participants complete a series of hands-on classes where they learn essential bicycle repair skills. Upon graduation, each participant receives:
- A fully refurbished bicycle
- A properly fitted helmet
- A lock to keep it secure
- The skills to maintain it
What You'll Learn
Flat Repair
Patch tubes, replace tires, and never be stranded.
Brakes
Adjust and replace brake pads for safe stopping.
Drivetrain
Clean, lube, and adjust your chain and gears.
Safety Check
The ABC Quick Check to ensure your bike is road-ready.

Open Shop Hours
Access tools, workspace, and expertise to work on your own bike.

Tuesday & Thursday: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
How It Works
- Sign in when you arrive
- Grab a workstand and get started
- Ask volunteers for help anytime
- Pay for any parts you use
- Clean up your workspace before leaving
Suggested donation: $5-10/visit (no one turned away for inability to pay)
Safety Classes
Learn to ride safely and confidently in any environment.
Learn to Ride
For children and adults who have never ridden a bike. We use the balance method for quick, confident learning.
Duration: 2-4 hours
Basic Safety
Helmet fit, ABC Quick Check, rules of the road, hand signals, and hazard awareness.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Urban Commuting
Advanced traffic skills, route planning, night riding, and weather conditions.
Duration: 4-8 hours
Family Bike Safety
Parents and children learn together. Riding positions, teaching techniques, family rides.
Duration: 2-3 hours
Youth Programs
Building skills, confidence, and community for young people.
Youth Earn-A-Bike
Our youth program combines bicycle repair education with life skills development. Young people learn:
- Mechanical skills and tool use
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting
- Teamwork and communication
- Responsibility and follow-through
- Safe riding practices
